Adult Disability Payment Rates Scotland 2026/27
2026/27 Weekly Rates
All ADP rates were uprated by 3.8% in line with the Consumer Prices Index, effective 6 April 2026. ADP maintains complete monetary parity with PIP rates in England and Wales.
Daily Living Component:
- Standard rate: £76.70 per week (8–11 points)
- Enhanced rate: £114.60 per week (12+ points)
Mobility Component:
- Standard rate: £30.30 per week (8–11 points)
- Enhanced rate: £80.00 per week (12+ points)
A transitional Daily Living rate of £30.30 per week applies to certain transfers from the lowest care component rate of Disability Living Allowance or Scottish Adult Disability Living Allowance, until the award is reviewed.
How Payments Work
ADP is normally paid every 4 weeks in arrears, directly into your bank account. That means:
- Standard Daily Living: £306.80 every 4 weeks
- Enhanced Daily Living: £458.40 every 4 weeks
- Standard Mobility: £121.20 every 4 weeks
- Enhanced Mobility: £320.00 every 4 weeks
The maximum combined award — Enhanced Daily Living plus Enhanced Mobility — is £194.60 per week, or £778.40 every 4 weeks (£10,119.20 annually).
Claims made under Special Rules for Terminal Illness are paid weekly in advance rather than 4-weekly in arrears.
What Affects Your Rate
Your award level depends entirely on point scores across 12 statutory activities — 10 for daily living, 2 for mobility. Each component is scored independently, so you might qualify for Enhanced Daily Living and Standard Mobility, or vice versa, or only one component.
Points come from how your condition affects your ability to do things like prepare food, wash, dress, manage medication, communicate, plan journeys, and walk. The key is the Regulation 7 reliability test: you're scored on whether you can do each activity safely, to an acceptable standard, repeatedly, and within a reasonable time — not just whether you can do it at all.
ADP is entirely non-means-tested and tax-free. Your savings, salary, and household income make no difference.

When Rates Change
Scottish Government uprates all devolved social security payments annually in line with September CPI, with new rates taking effect each April. Rates are confirmed in the Scottish Budget, typically in December.
How an Award Affects Other Support
An ADP award can passport you to additional support:
- Carer Support Payment — someone caring for you 35+ hours a week may qualify (£86.45/week from April 2026)
- Blue Badge — Enhanced Mobility, or 12 points on Activity 11, or 8+ points on Activity 12
- Benefit cap exemption — your household is exempt if you, your partner, or a child under 18 living with you receives ADP
- Council tax — a disability band reduction depends on home adaptations; Council Tax Reduction is separately means-tested
If you're on Universal Credit, ADP doesn't count as income. However, the UC health element (LCWRA) has its own eligibility rules separate from ADP — receiving one doesn't automatically grant the other.
Our ADP claim guide covers the full point-scoring system and includes self-assessment worksheets to help you understand which rate you might qualify for before you apply.
